Conducting an information campaign through the “Mobile Energy Car” in the Zarafshon valley.

Target area

Shahriston, Panjakent and Ayni districts of Zarafshon valley.

Goal

To promote the transformation of Tajikistan's energy sector, in particular the emergence of independent energy entrepreneurs who can offer affordable and sustainable energy products and services to rural populations.

Specific objectives

·     Conduct a marketing and awareness campaign (MARC) in the Zarafshan Valley on solar technologies and their benefits for households and businesses to address significant knowledge gaps regarding solar technologies, particularly among female-headed households;

·     Increase private investment in renewable energy sources (RES), with a particular focus on solar power;

·     Demonstrate to rural populations the most suitable solar photovoltaic systems, solar water heaters (SWH), and other solar-based technologies, thereby increasing their willingness to adopt solar technologies.

Results

·     An information campaign was conducted in three districts of the Zerafshon Valley, reaching 1,200 people, including 383 women.

·    2,000 people were reached through social media campaigns.

·     A competition on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and the rational use of natural resources was organized and held among participants in the three target districts, with 54 rural residents participating.

·     Twenty villages without electricity connections were identified and registered in the target districts..
