Climate Resilient Development Project

Target area

Jayhun, Dusti and Qubodiyon district of Khatlon region.

Goal

The population of the region concerned by the project benefits from a climate resilient development path.

Specific objectives

·  Vulnerable households, especially women and youth, are resilient to climate change through diversified sustainable livelihoods and innovative solutions addressing climate risks.

Results

·  To date, 2,606 households have received access to agricultural production services such as small-scale agricultural equipment and inputs in the form of seeds, seedlings, biopesticides, biofertilizers, etc. (In progress);

·  To date, 400 project beneficiaries have participated in the creation of salinity- and drought-tolerant, biodiverse organic gardens using water-saving technologies. (In progress);

·  To date, the design and construction of new solar photovoltaic systems and passive greenhouses of various sizes for 60 rural households has been completed. (In progress);

·  To date, 383 vulnerable households have implemented energy efficiency solutions, received additional subsidies, and begun to benefit from energy efficient technologies.  In addition, more than 1,000 schoolchildren and teachers received access to warm and hot water using solar water heaters. (In progress)
