Supporting selected rural communities in the Khatlon region in the transition to more climate-resilient and resource-efficient livelihoods. |

Specific objectives |
· Help smallholder farmers connect to new value chains such as agroforestry products (wood, nuts, berries, wild fruits and dried products (fruits, vegetables and herbs)); · Ensure maximum utilization of greenhouses, restoration of worn-out infrastructure, especially first- and second-level irrigation canals, implementation of efficient irrigation technologies, creation of communal storage facilities for agricultural products, and use of solar technologies for irrigation systems; · Smallholder farmers in the target areas significantly increased their knowledge in sustainable management and conservation of horticulture and fruit production, climate-smart agriculture, farming as a business, integrated pest management and efficient water management. |

Results |
· The project is expected to help smallholder farmers connect to new value chains by diversifying their livelihoods and strengthening their resilience to external risks. (In progress); · The project is expected to extend the vegetable production season to 10 months in two target districts of Khatlon region. (In progress); · By the end of the project, at least 70% of the at least 440 farmers who participated in minimum 2-3 training sessions are expected to demonstrate a sufficient level of knowledge in the final tests on resource-saving fruit production, greenhouse use, climate-smart agriculture, integrated pest management, and efficient water management.(In progress). |
